Why Does Menstrual Pain Occur?
Menstrual pain is associated with the shedding of the uterine lining (endometrium). As the lining detaches and is expelled, inflammation occurs. This inflammation attracts inflammatory cells to the area, facilitating the shedding process. However, for individuals who experience intense inflammation, pain is likely to arise as a result.
