Born in Okayama Prefecture. After completing the Graduate School of Medicine (Surgical Sciences) at Kinki University in 1988, he built his career as a surgeon in clinical settings. He also served as a professor at Kinki University's Faculty of Medicine and as a professor of Clinical Nutrition, specializing in gastrointestinal surgery. His main research areas include alcohol metabolism, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and oxidative stress.

Focusing on the impact of alcohol metabolism and oxidative stress on human health, his work led to the development of antioxidant formulations such as "Twendee S®" (product name: SUPALIV) and "Twendee X®" (product name: Oxicut) to improve oxidative stress.

In 2013, he took the lead in the Antioxidant Research Division as a specially appointed professor at the Gifu University Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology. Since then, he has been actively conducting research as the Chief Researcher at TIMA Establishment and the Pasteur Medical Research Center, a public interest incorporated foundation.

Hobbies

My hobby is golf.
I first encountered golf in 1982, during my time as a medical student, when I participated in a golf competition organized by my medical department.
What started as a casual interest quickly captivated me—the expansive green fairways and the serene atmosphere drew me in completely.
Before I knew it, 42 years had passed. Golf is not just about competing for scores; it offers me a special time to reflect on myself.

What supports my golf life is my daily morning stretching routine.
In particular, the "Vow Stretch," a method I developed myself, focuses on swing-specific movements, helping to maintain flexibility and enhance concentration.
As I continue to enjoy the joy of growth and camaraderie with friends I’ve met through golf, I hope to keep appreciating this sport amidst the beauty of nature.
